You
can find Tramontana-Windsurf on the edge of the saltwater lake "L'Etang
d'Ingril" in Frontignan-Plage,
approx. 25km to the south of Montpellier. The shallow lake offers
ideal conditions for beginners, intermediates, speed-surfers and
freestylers. The sandy beaches of the Mediterranean are only 5 minutes away from us too. There are also many restaurants, shops and
a great choice of accommodation very close and accessible by foot! |

The famous wind at our
spot, altthough colloquially named "Les Aresquiers" by the locals, is the Tramontana. This
north-western wind is accelerated by the mountainous environment and is strongest in spring and atumn,
which is great for all competent windsurfers. Beginners may also have
fun
during these periods of the year, as the wind is lighter and more
manageable in the morning. Futhermore, our center is situated in the
leeward direction and the wind
always carrys you back
to the shore! |

Sometimes we also experience the Mistral wind. This north
wind is not as strong as the Tramontana. Particularly in wintertime
there's also the Marin,
a south-eastern wind which often brings some bigger waves - but only
at the coast, on the lake the water is always flat! Most
importantly in summertime we enjoy the thermal wind, which reaches up to 4 beaufort on hot days. |

Besides windsurfing,
Frontignan-Plage offers you more
activities to take advantage of. The sea and the long beach invite you to swim or to play
beach-volley. In the village you find restaurants and bars; on bicycle
routes and walks you can discover the beautiful countryside and for
those who want to visit a city, Montpellier
is pretty close!
